LGV Licence Categories

The different categories of LGV licence are listed below:

C1	Rigid goods vehicle between 3500 kg and 7500 kg towing a trailer up to 750 kg. This class of vehicle is generally known as a ‘7.5 tonner’.
C1+E	Category C1 plus the towing of a trailer over 750 kg – the total weight should not be more than 12000 kg. This class of vehicle is generally known as a ‘7.5 tonner + trailer’.
C	Rigid goods vehicle over 7500 kg towing a trailer up to 750 kg. This class of vehicle is generally known as ‘Class 2 or LGV2 or HGV2 or rigid’.
C+E	A rigid vehicle towing a trailer of any size. This class of vehicle is generally known as ‘Class 1 or LGV1 or HGV1 or articulated’.
